The convergence of ongoing social injustice in America and a worldwide pandemic has caused a historic outpouring of awareness and renewed demands for conflict resolution. George Floyd’s murder in the summer of 2020 again exposed the crippling effects of racial bias, unfair distribution of wealth, and lack of equal opportunity in marginalized communities. Hate crimes are on the rise nationwide, ripping at the fabric of culture. Equal representation for women and confronting climate change also remain daunting challenges for this generation. If photography can help focus our attention on these issues of Social Justice, then let the pictures speak.
